Basic Handgun

The course covers basic knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for owning and using a pistol safely. This course is considered an excellent starting point for the beginner who strives to learn the proper techniques necessary to handle and employ a pistol.

Have you never shot a gun before and you want to learn?
This course is intended for individuals who have never fired a handgun but are interested in learning. This is not a complete firearms training class.

Hunter's Safety

  • Participants under 12 must have parents attend class with them.
  • A two-day course
  • Attendance on both days is required
  • Teaches the basics of hunting with firearms and bow
  • Required by the state in order to purchase a hunting license

Off-Hand and Alternate / Shooting Positions

This class is available to everyone.

In this class, students will learn how to shoot with their weak hand only, how to transition from the strong hand to the weak hand, and how to defend yourself if you happen to have fallen or been knocked to the ground.

It's very important to learn how to shoot using your off-hand so that you can still defend yourself if you're injured or in a position where your strong hand may be incapacitated.

Low Light / Night Shooting

This class is available to everyone.

The most likely time to be assaulted is at night or in dimly-lit areas. So in this class, you will learn techniques on how to identify targets and get defensively accurate hits in low-light and no-light encounters.

Now is the time to get out the tactical flashlights, laser sights, and night sights. Whether you have a weapon-mounted light or a handheld, you'll learn how to correctly use both.

Basic Carbine

This is not an advanced class; this is intended for everyone.
Do you own a rifle? Not quite sure how to use it properly? Then you need to take this course.

Topics covered in this class include:
  • Safety
  • How to mount the rifle to your shoulder
  • Stance
  • Sighting iron sights and optical sights
  • Trigger control
  • Self-defense rifle techniques
  • Moving and shooting
You will need a semiautomatic rifle and 100 rounds. (This course is not designed for tube-fed rifles, i.e. .22's and lever guns.)

Draw and Fire

This class is available to everyone.

In this class, students will learn the proper technique for drawing a handgun from a holster and getting a defensively accurate hit on target.

In addition to drawing and firing, you'll also learn how to provide effective follow-up shots. In the process of learning these skills, you'll also be instructed on how to efficiently reload your handgun and stay in the fight.

This class is available to everyone.

In this class, students will learn how to use movement to their advantage in a self-defense environment, learn how to find and use cover effectively, and understand the difference between cover and concealment and learn how to utilize both.

Malfunction Clearing

This class is available to everyone.

This class will teach students the most efficient and reliable way to clear many types of firearm malfunctions such as double feeds, failure to extract, and stovepipes. Students will also learn how to clear these malfunctions, one-handed.

Home Defense Shotgun

This is not an advanced class; this is intended for everyone.

Do you have a shotgun to help you defend your home? Not quite sure how to use it effectively? Then you need to take this course.

This self-defense shotgun course will teach you the basic elements of how to defend yourself, your family, and home using any shotgun.

You'll learn how to use the shotgun that you own whether it's a bird gun or a tactical shotgun. This class is based on the NRA Personal Protection in the Home course.

You'll learn how to pick a safe room, what items you might need in that safe room, as well as how to defend that safe room.

Other skills learned are center of mass shooting, reloading, and using cover and concealment.
You'll need any shotgun and 50 rounds of bird shot or 00 buckshot.

Defensive Revolver

This is not an advanced class; this is intended for everyone. This class is available to everyone.

This course will show students valuable techniques for using the very popular, 5 and 6-shot and revolver, and things like how to perform a speed reload, concealed carry, and drawing from a pocket.

Equipment requirements:
  • Revolver holster that can be holstered one-handed
  • Speed loaders
